FAQ

Is this route planner free?

Yes. Multi-stop routing, driving distances, walking and cycling directions, travel time estimates, and shareable links are all completely free. No account or payment is required.

How many stops can I add?

There is no hard limit. Add as many waypoints as your route requires. Each leg's distance and duration is listed individually, and the panel shows the running total.

Does it give turn-by-turn directions?

Yes. Step-by-step directions for each leg appear in the sidebar when you are in Drive, Walk, or Bike mode. The directions are powered by OpenStreetMap's routing engine.

How do I share my route?

Select Share route to copy a link to your route. The recipient can open it without an account.

Route Planner Free: Multi-Stop Map Route Planner

Plan a route with several stops

Add places in the order you want to visit them. Choose Drive, Walk, or Bike, check the route, and select Share route. Route planning and link sharing are free. Neither you nor the person opening the link needs an account.

The planner follows your stop order. It does not automatically find the shortest order for a delivery round.

Try a walking tour in Paris

  1. Search for Place des Vosges, Paris and select the result.
  2. Add Notre-Dame de Paris as the next stop.
  3. Add Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris as the third stop.
  4. Select Walk. Check the path and the distance for each leg.
  5. Select Share route and open the copied link to check the result.

The finished map connects the three stops in that order. Walking time is an estimate from the routing service. Add time for visits and breaks yourself. Check local access before you travel.

Plan a drive with an intermediate stop

Add Stockholm, Uppsala, and Västerås, then select Drive. The planner routes from Stockholm to Uppsala and then to Västerås. Remove or move a stop if you want a different order.

The panel shows each leg and the total distance and time. Road distance depends on the available roads. It is not a fixed percentage longer than straight-line distance.

For cycling, select Bike and check the new path. The routing service uses a different travel profile for each mode. Distance and time can change with the mode.

What the planner can and cannot do

  • Add several stops and get directions for each leg. Large routes remain subject to routing-service and browser limits.
  • Compare alternative routes when the service returns them for a journey with two stops.
  • Share a route as a link. Sign in if you want to save it in your account for later editing.
  • Keep your chosen stop order. Automatic delivery-stop optimization is not included.
  • Use routes based on OpenStreetMap data. Coverage and access information can be incomplete.
  • Report a routing failure if the service cannot find a route. A failed route is not a verified straight-line alternative.

The route distance follows the returned path. For a direct distance between two points, use the distance calculator. For a fixed distance around one point, use the map radius tool.
