About this dataset
- This map joins Census Bureau Vintage 2025 population estimates to 2025 county and county-equivalent boundaries.
- Density is the population estimate divided by land area in square kilometres. Water area is excluded.
- The selection covers counties and county equivalents in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Puerto Rico and other territories are excluded.
- Open the map to compare county density values and add your own notes. The map does not show population within each part of a county.
- Boundaries are simplified for display. Estimates and county definitions can change between releases.

The download includes all 3,144 features as area groups, areas. Coordinates use longitude and latitude in WGS84.
